Government Digital Strategy Launch at South Learning Centre
16 May 2005
On Monday, 16 May the Government launched its Digital Strategy to the nation from Parliament, and used a live video link up at South Learning Centre to enable politicians in Wellington to talk with people (including our Deputy mayor, teachers and an entrepreneur) about the way digital technology and a digital way of life has impacted their professions.
The live launch was also projected into the Sydenham room where guests invited by Libraries and South Learning Centre were able to watch the entire video conference as well.
The Government has created a website about the digital strategy and the launch/ video conference can be viewed as a webcast at http://www.r2.co.nz/20050516/
The Christchurch City Libraries and South Learning Centre were highly commended for their work on the forefront in the area of improving peoples lives through the application of information and communication technology (ICT).
